Roblox Plus Explained: Features, Pricing, and Premium Changes

Roblox Plus is a new $4.99/month subscription launching globally on April 30, 2026. It replaces Roblox Premium for new users and delivers 10–20% discounts on all Robux purchases, free unlimited private servers, fee-free Robux transfers, and marketplace access—but no monthly Robux stipend. Existing premium members get a free one-month Plus trial they can stack on top of their current plan.

Roblox has 144 million daily users, and its internal economy generates significant Robux. The previous Premium subscription provided a monthly Robux deposit and concluded its service. Roblox Plus takes a different approach — instead of giving you currency, it makes every Robux you already spend go further. Whether that’s a better deal depends entirely on how much you spend. The math is below.

Roblox Plus Price and Bundles

The base subscription is $4.99 USD per month. Shortly after launch, optional bundles will combine the subscription with recurring monthly Robux — one payment covering both.

Plan Monthly cost Robux included Status
Roblox Plus (base) $4.99 USD None Launches April 30, 2026
Plus 500 TBD 500 Robux/month Arriving after launch
Plus 1000 TBD 1,000 Robux/month Arriving after launch
Plus 2000 TBD 2,000 Robux/month Arriving after launch

At the time of writing, Roblox has not confirmed the bundle pricing. They will roll out after the April 30 base launch.

Fee-free Robux transfers Send Robux directly to any player with no transaction fee. Recipient does not need a Plus subscription. Parental approval is required for younger users in every transfer.

In-game subscription prompt Players can subscribe to Plus directly inside a game if the creator has implemented the PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API — no need to leave the experience.
Future features Roblox has confirmed additional benefits are in development and will be added after launch. The subscription’s value is expected to grow over time.

The Discount Break-Even Math

Roblox Plus has no Robux stipend. Its value is entirely determined by how much you spend in-game. Here’s the honest calculation:

Phase Discount Monthly Robux spend needed to break even Who this suit?
Months 1–3 10% ~$50/month in Robux spending Heavy spenders only—casual players won’t recoup $4.99 at 10% off
Month 4 onwards 20% ~$25/month in Robux spending Most active players—$25 in monthly Robux is realistic for regular users

Private server savings stack on top of these figures. If you currently pay Robux for private servers across two or more games, that saving alone may cover the subscription cost before any purchase discounts apply.

Premium Transition Timeline

The transition has a specific schedule. Missing the payment window on an existing Premium account means losing access permanently.

Date What changes Action required
April 30, 2026 Roblox Plus launches globally. Premium is closed to new sign-ups. Existing Premium members receive a free one-month Plus trial— stacked on top of their current plan. Existing members: use the free trial before deciding to switch. No action needed to keep Premium active.
May 30, 2026 Premium’s 10% Robux purchase Bonus has been discontinued. Premium profile badge removed. The monthly Robux stipend and trading access remain available. No action is needed, unless you want to switch to Plus before this date.
Any time after April 30 If you cancel Premium—or your renewal fails and Roblox can’t process payment within 72 hours—your membership is cancelled permanently. You cannot resubscribe to Premium. Keep your payment method updated. If it’s expiring soon, update it now to avoid an involuntary permanent cancellation.

Creator Earnings from Roblox Plus

There are three distinct ways creators earn Robux specifically tied to Roblox Plus—including a new API that most coverage has treated as a footnote.

Earning source How it triggers Payout
Subscriber purchases A Plus subscriber buys an in-game item, avatar, or pass at a discount Creator earns the same full-price Robux amount. Roblox covers the discount cost—creators are not penalized. Higher subscriber volume drives more potential purchases.
Private server time A Plus subscriber spends 60+ cumulative minutes in a game’s paid private server within a 30-day period Up to 100 Robux per qualifying subscriber. Roblox counts the top five paid private servers that each subscriber used most during the period.
In-game sign-ups via API A player subscribes to Roblox Plus from within a game using the PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API 250 Robux/month for up to 3 months per subscriber (max 750 Robux per subscriber). Subscriber must remain active for the bonus to continue each month.

The in-game API is the most financially significant creator feature in the launch. A game with consistent daily users could generate meaningful recurring Robux income simply by prompting a plus sign in-game—with no additional content required beyond the API implementation.

How to Subscribe

Roblox Plus goes live April 30, 2026. You cannot subscribe before that date.

Step Action
1. Sign in Log into your Roblox account on a desktop or mobile browser.
2. Open subscriptions Go to the membership or subscription section of your account settings.
3. Select a plan Choose the base Roblox Plus plan or an optional Robux bundle (once available).
4. Pay and confirm Enter payment details and confirm with “Pay and Subscribe.” Your 10% discount activates immediately.

Pro Tips Before You Subscribe

Tip Why it matters
Commit to three months The 20% discount is where the real value sits. Subscribing for one month and cancelling means you only ever see 10% off—the break-even point at 10% is $50/month in Robux spending, which most players won’t hit.
Count your private server costs first If you already pay Robux for private servers in two or more games, those savings alone may cover the $4.99 monthly cost before any purchase discounts apply.
Subscribe via a creator’s game If your favorite game has implemented the PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API, subscribing from within that game earns the creator a Robux bonus at no extra cost to you.
Robux transfers work both ways The recipient of a fee-free transfer doesn’t need Plus. Useful for parents funding their child’s account or splitting Robux costs are higher when playing with friends who aren’t subscribers.
More features are coming Roblox has explicitly confirmed additional benefits are in development post-launch. The official announcement describes the April 30 feature set as “just the beginning.”

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Unlike Roblox Premium, Plus does not include a monthly Robux stipend. It gives you discounts on Robux you already spend. The optional bundles (Plus 500/1000/2000) will include recurring Robux alongside the subscription once they launch after April 30.

Yes — but only as long as they don't cancel or miss a renewal payment. Once Premium lapses or is cancelled after April 30, it cannot be reactivated. Existing members also receive a free one-month Plus trial stackable on top of their current plan.

After three consecutive months of uninterrupted Roblox Plus subscription. No action required — it upgrades automatically. A lapse in subscription resets the counter.

No. Roblox absorbs the full cost of every discount. When a Plus subscriber purchases at 10% or 20% off, the creator earns the same Robux they would have at full price. Roblox subsidizes the difference from its own revenue.

Heavy spenders who regularly buy $25 or more in Robux monthly (the break-even threshold after month three at 20%), and players who already pay for private servers across multiple games. Casual players who spend $10–$15 per month on Robux are unlikely to recoup the $4.99 cost, particularly in the first three months at 10% off.
